About Dr. Sharjeel Sultan


Dr. Sharjeel Sultan holds MBBS, DOMS, MCPS, FCPS and FRCS degrees with recently completed Second Fellowship Training in Vitreoretinal surgery as well. His special interests are in management of Diabetic Eye Diseases and Retinal Detachment Cases. He is doing all the Anterior Segment Surgeries like phacoemulsification with premium foldable and multifocal lenses. He is also doing LASIK refractive surgery, Clear Lens Extraction for removal of high power glasses and Corneal Transplant surgeries.

Since 2000, Dr. Sharjeel Sultan has acquired a rich experience of working with the Pakistan’s top most hospitals, viz., Liaquat national hospital, Alshifa trust eye Hospital Rawalpindi, Jinnah postgraduate Hospital, Hashmanis Hospital, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Darul Sehat Hospital, Ziauddin Hospital, Akil eye hospital, Baqai Institute of Diabetes and Civil Hospital Karachi.

Dr. Sharjeel Sultan is also an Executive Member of Ophthalmic Society of Pakistan (OSP Karachi branch). He has also attended Multinational Conferences like American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) and has worked with Multinational NGOs’ in the different parts of the world. His Papers have been published in various Journals of Pakistan. He is a regular external examiner of undergraduates in liaquat national hospital and Aga khan hospital.

In 2012, Dr. Sharjeel Sultan established his own eye hospital in the name of Ismat Eye Hospital (IEH) in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Karachi with an out-patient Clinic and an Operation Theater as well. Gradually the hospital grew to a full-fledged eye hospital in its present setup located in B 376 Block 6 Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi.

In 2014, Dr. Sharjeel also established a Sight Welfare Organization (SWO) under the umbrella of IEH to provide necessary eye health care facility to the needy patients free of cost or at very nominal charges. Since its inception, SWO has also successfully organized several Eye Camps in the different parts of Karachi, Interior Sindh and in Balochistan where an out patient’s clinic and Cataract Surgeries were performed and Glasses and Medicines were provided to hundreds of deserving patients free of cost.
